Physical and chemical characteristics of coastal water by level and monitoring site
Source: Albion Fisheries Research Centre (AFRC), Minister of Agro-Industry, Food Security, Blue Economy and Fisheries Coastal Water Quality Requirements of pH for Categories Conservation & Recreation is 7.5 mg/L - 8.5 mg/L while for Category Industrial pH is 7.0 mg/L - 9.0 mg/L; Temperature is ambient for all Categories. Note: i) Total Suspended Solids is not monitored by the Laboratories Division, AFRC ii) The range of levels of pH, temperature and salinity for seawater have been compiled for each site. iii) The monitoring frequency for each site is 3 - 4 times yearly.
