At the 2022 United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA 5.2), the resolution on “Enhancing Circular Economy” was adopted, emphasizing the critical need to hasten a fundamental shift in our management of natural resources, as well as in our consumption and production patterns. Awareness of the circular economy (CE) concept in Mauritius is still in its early stages, with a predominant focus on the recycling aspect of the circular economy framework.
